MRS. MERFELD 6TH GRADE
SCIENCE |
I
have a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University (GO CLONES!). I also hold an endorsement for basic
science. Before coming to NMS I taught
in the Boone Community School district at the 4th and 5th grade levels. For the past three years I have
worked for Youth and Shelter Services as the mentoring facilitator. My
husband, Nick, and I have three children who attend school in Nevada. We live in the country with our dog,
Zoe, and 4 cats. I enjoy
camping, fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends and
family. I am excited to be teaching
at Nevada Middle School! Go

MRS. NIBLOCK MS CHEERLEADING COACH HS DRAMA DIRECTOR |
I
graduated with a bachelorÕs degree from University of Iowa and then returned
to school 20 years later to complete my teaching endorsement in Social
Studies from Iowa State University but IÕm still a Hawkeye at heart. In the past, I have
taught the Middle School GOALS program and before that I was an Associate at
the Middle School and taught Technology at a K-8 parochial school. I have four
children. Tom is working for the State Department, Matt is a manager at Hormel in Fremont, Bekah is a sophomore in Integrated Studio Arts at ISU and Sarah is a senior at NHS.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, sewing and creating things on the
computer. I love spending time
with my family. As Middle School Cheer

MR. PELZER HS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH HS HEAD TRACK COACH |
I
have a bachelorÕs degree from Buena Vista College with a double major in
English and Physical Education. I
also have a masterÕs degree from Iowa State University in Health and Human
Performance. This marks my
twenty-first year of teaching. I
have spent eleven of the past twenty years teaching 6-12 Language Arts and
nine of the past 20 years in high school Physical Education. My wife, Amanda, and I have two
children. Mason is a ninth
grader at NHS and Traye is a sixth grader at NMS. In my spare time, I enjoy golf, fishing, and spending time
with my family. We are very glad

MRS. THACKER |
I graduated with Bachelors Degree in
Elementary and Special Education from Brigham Young University. I taught Special Education in Utah
for 15 years. This is my second
year at the middle school teaching Special Education. I have two daughters and one son. In 2003 my husband Tyler got a job in
Ames and we moved to Nevada. We
have really grown to love Iowa. I love teaching and I really enjoy working
with the students each day. In my spare time, I usually can be found colored

This
is my first year at Nevada Middle School as a one-on-one Associate. My husband, John, and I have three
children. The oldest is in 5th
grade and our youngest is in Pre-K.

This
is my third year as an One-on-one Associate at the Nevada Middle School. My husband, John, and I live in
Nevada and we have two sons. My
oldest is an electrician and our youngest is a sophomore at Nevada High. In my spare time, I enjoy spending
time with the most beautiful young lady ever, my one year old granddaughter,
