Notes
from the Middle School
Changes in the End
of the Quarter/Semester
Due
to the five days we have missed because of
the weather, the middle school and the
high school have moved the ending date for
second quarter/ first semester to FRIDAY,
JANUARY 15, 2010.
Report
cards will be sent home on January 22,
2010.
Snow
Make-Up Days
The
School Board has approved the following
days as snow make- up days; regular
classes will be held on:
February
19 (previously a professional development
day)
April 2 (previously a professional
development day)
May 26 (additional school day)
May 27 (additional school day)
May 28 (additional school day)
Raise
the Curtain
US
Cellular will announce in February which
10 schools will be receiving their annual
$100,000 grants. If Nevada would be
awarded the US Cellular grant, the funds
will be applied to the Auditorium
Committee's "Raise the Curtain
Campaign".
The
Auditorium Committee has kicked-off their
$3.9 million, 600-seat auditorium capital
campaign. Watch for a Raise the
Curtain flier.
Furlough
Days
The
Nevada Education Association,
administration, and the School Board have
agreed to two furlough days to help the
district meet the State's 10% across the
board cuts for the 2009-2010 school year.
All administrators, teachers, secretaries,
associates, and managers will be taking
two furlough days between January and
June. The teachers' furlough days will be
held on June 1 and June 3; these days were
scheduled as professional development
days.

Sports
The
7th and 8th grade
winter sports will be wrapping up soon. If
you are looking for some exciting
basketball or wrestling, come watch the
middle school Cubs finish their seasons at
home on:

ACCOUNTS
Each student has a meal
account and lunch card. Overdue Notices
regarding the account balance are either
emailed or sent home with the student. If
you have not yet signed up to receive
account balance information via email and
would like to, please send an email to the
Food Service Director Diana Weber with the
email address you would like to have
messages sent to throughout the year.

Students who have a
negative balance of more than $5.00 will
be offered a milk and cheese sticks and
fruit or vegetable. Please try to keep
your lunch balance on the positive
side.
