Check Out Procedures | Use of the Library Media Center | Library Behavior | Library Services
The Library Media Center is open from 8:00
a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on
Fridays.

You may have 3 materials checked out at one time with some exceptions for
research projects.
One current magazine and one videotape can be checked out at a time.
No materials may be checked out if you have an overdue material. Overdue
notices will be run once a week.
Check out materials at the circulation desk. The media specialist, teacher,
or student volunteer will check out
your materials on the computer. Each student will be given a library
computer number, that we will ask you
to remember.
Check out videotapes by giving the appropriate card from the blue box to the
media specialist.
Return materials by placing them in the book return next to the circulation
desk.

Information
Skills
Library/Information skills will be taught with appropriate classroom projects
in all subject areas.
Reading
Classes
Students will be given an opportunity to checkout materials once a week from
reading classes.
From
the Classroom
Your classroom teacher may bring the entire class to the library media center
to do research or your teacher may
send individuals or small groups to the library media center to locate
materials or information.
Study Hall
You may come to the library media center from study hall to check out materials
or read the newspaper or
magazines for part of the period. If you have a class assignment that
will take longer and you need to use
library to complete it, you will need a pass from your classroom teacher.

When you are in
the library media center please remember that other students m ay be in there
to read, study or take a
test. The library is not
to be used for visiting or to catch up on what your friends are doing. If
you are not using
appropriate behavior while in
the library media center you will be asked to leave.
It is
your responsibility to bring all the materials that you will need to the
library media center with you.
This includes books, magazines,
paper, pencils and pens.

The library media center provides a
box near our book return in which you can return Public Library Books. A
Public Library staff member will pick up these
books twice a week. They will remove the fines for materials checked out
by students if they are returned to this box. The Public Library Staff
asks that you return videotapes and special reserve materials directly to the
library.
