Second grade limnologists explore acquatic
habitats on a day long trip. They collect plants and animals and
build their own acquatic system and food chain.
Second grade paleontologists visit the fossil
fields in Rockford, Iowa to collect ocean fossils from the
pre-dinosaur era. Parents helping on this field trip will be asked to
provide their own transportation due to busing/budget
restraints.
Story County Naturalists bring the outdoors to our classrooms with the following programs:
Who Goes There? (This program teaches the students how to identify animals from the clues they leave behind.)
Home Sweet Home (This program teaches the students about Iowa's three animal habitats and the special adaptations they have to help them survive in their enviroment.)
