Steve Leeper

Steve is one of only a few Nevada Basketball players to ever be a four year starter. 1976 graduate, Steve Leeper accomplished this feat from 1973-1976. In those four years, he was named all-conference, all-area by the Ames Tribune and Nevada Journal as well as all-state. He was the starting point guard for the first undefeated team in Heart of Iowa Conference history. Mr. Leeper currently holds three school records which include assists in a game, season and career. Steve led the team in scoring, assists and steals as a senior. After graduation Steve attended two junior colleges as well as Oklahoma City University and Iowa State. His best athletic year was in 1977-78. He was the starting point guard for Clarmore Junior College in Oklahoma where he led the conference in free throw shooting and was the team leader in assists.
