The Nevada High School Key Club is part of an international volunteer organization in which students volunteer their time to making the world a better place through events such as the March of Dimes, Trick or Treat for UNICEF, and various other events throughout the year, listed and described more thoroughly on the events page.
People of all ages can be a part of the Kiwanis volunteer programs. There are seven divisions of the organization:
- K-Kids for 3rd through 6th graders
- Builders Club for Junior High students
- Key Club for High School students
- Circle K for college students
- Kiwanis for adults
- Atkion Club for mentally and physically handicapped people
- Golden K for senior citizens
About one quarter of Nevada High's students are currently involved in Key Club. This means coming to weekly meetings, going to one Kiwanis meeting a year, and staying active in annual projects. A secretary, treasurer, president, and vice president all elected from the student body run meetings while Mrs. Strobehn & Miss Davis are the adult leaders (sponsors). This club is completely voluntary and opens young minds to the joy of helping others.
